For our first attempt at building in Maxon's Cinema 4D, we worked on building a yellow submarine. Building this model helped us to understand and navigate Cinema 4D's workspace. We used "primitive shapes"to create the main body of the submarine, learned about splines to create the submarine's fins, extruded shapes, and deformed shapes. This exercise can be found on Cinema 4D's "Cineversity"help website: https://www.cineversity.com/
Next, we will be using these skills to create 3D logos.

Process
3D Logo Design
Process Overview
For our first project in 3D Graphics, we took an already existing 2D logo and made it 3D. We started by identifying issues, causes, and areas of interest that we are passionate about. Then we reflected and wrote about why one particular area is personally significant. We then researched organizations or businesses that are connected to and support one or more of those areas we selected. Acting as graphic designers doing volunteer work to support a meaningful cause, we redesigned their already existing 2D logo as a 3D graphic - free of charge!
In order to complete the construction of a newly created 3D graphic, we used skills we learned to build the submarine exercise, which included primitive shapes, splines, shape expanders, and shape deformers. Lastly, we learned how to add color, materials, and lighting to make the new logo more contemporary.

This is the logo for PBS. I wanted to make a logo that was simple, did not have any words, and looked appealing. PBS
